New (and completely redesigned) for 2017 are the RibCor 70K Skates from CCM. At CCM, it was time for a change, and that culminated into a fully-revamped skate built from leading biomechanics research and feedback from the NHL’s top players who choose to wear RibCor skates. The RibCor 70K Skates feature the innovative FlexFrame Technology, which offers excellent forward flexion and the best lateral stability to provide players like Sidney Crosby, Matt Duchene, Filip Forsberg and Thomas Tatar with the most optimized skating stride in hockey. Highlights:

FlexFrame Technology: forward flexion for power generation and lateral stability, helping to maximize energy transfer.
Lightweight skate construction: 70 grams lighter than the previous generation!
Contoured heel lock design: new high-definition heel lock and ankle lock boot shape replaces the need for the Pump. A flexible fit for all players.

Digging into the nitty-gritty of the RibCor 70K Skates, they come equipped with the aforementioned Composite Quarter Package, allowing for ultimate forward flexion and lateral stability, maximizing the skater’s stride. The flexible Fit is a nice bonus, and it provides a contoured and snug fit for all players – try these skates on to see what we are talking about! Additionally, you get a high performance moisture-wicking Liner inside the boot, which helps keep the feet dry and skates light in the heat of the battle.

The ankle area features a smooth Comfort Pad (soft pad around collar of the boot for foot/ankle comfort), as well as memory foam Ankle Padding (pads wrap around the player’s feet for a solid fit and comfort). The Tongue is 7mm pro-grade, and features lace-bite protection and prevention for increased comfort for the skater. To wrap up the RibCor 70K Skates from CCM, the player also gets:

A Griptonite Footbed, which helps lock the player’s feet in the skate, and also provides support and comfort.
SpeedBlade 4.0 Holder, giving the skater an increased attack angle, and also providing greater striding and cornering.
